This rollator is meant for people living with specific neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s. Multiple stimuli are available to help the user take the first step, make subsequent steps, or maintain a walking rhythm.

The stability of the Rollz Motion Rhythm prevents falls that could occur due to balance problems. In addition, the cues overcome freezing or festinating gait patterns. A projected laser line could help to trigger the user to break a freeze. A metronome or the repeating vibration in the handles can further help to set the walking pace".

Multiple cues to break a freeze

Laser

A green laserline is projected onto the ground to stimulate breaking a freeze and improve the stride's length and walking speed.

Sound

A metronome signals the preferred step frequency. The acoustic rhythm contributes to regulating the walking speed.

Vibration

Handles vibrate at the rhythm of the pace. A big advantage of this tactile cue is that it is not noticeable to surrounding people.

The Rollz Motion Rhythm is developed on the same frame as the Rollz Motion, to which an electronic module has been added to offer visual, audible and tactile stimuli.

The cues of this Parkinson rollator start when one of the buttons on the handles is being pressed. Your practitioner can help choose the cue combination, frequency, duration and intensity to fit your specific situation.

Parkinson's patients can experience sudden, short and temporary episodes of inability to move the feet forward, despite the intention to walk. This could result in the characteristic appearance of the feet making quick stepping movements in place. A trigger or cue can overcome this.

Helps preventing habituation

The cues can be personalized even more with the Rollz app. Some Parkinson’s patients might stop responding to the same repeating cues due to prolonged exposure to those stimuli.

As a countermeasure, the metronome’s tone height and cue activation can be mixed in the app to create a random pattern. The variation and unpredictability prevents habituation.

Advanced and smart cue control

Besides changing the speed and cue combination, which can also be done on the Parkinson rollator itself, the app allows users to change the intensity, duration and predictability of the cues as well. These variables can be easily adapted to the user’s preferences.

The patient can choose to tweak the settings based on their own experience, or in accordance with their rehabilitation program. When a therapist is involved, the settings can be adjusted to match the patient’s personal training goals.

Synchronize it to your smartphone

The app can be used to give the cues in sync with the rollator. While wirelessly connected to the Rollz Motion Rhythm, the smartphone can vibrate and/or play the metronome along with the Parkinson rollator to increase the intensity of the cue.

The cues can be played solely on the smartphone as well. This enables to plug in earphones and to hear the metronome more privately. The user’s surroundings will not notice that cueing is on when this feature is used.

Great stability and comfort

As being a specialized version of the Rollz Motion, the Rollz Motion Rhythm is also a highly maneuverable rollator that offers unmatched stability. The large wheels cross obstacles easily and a folding mechanism allows compact transportation.

Every Rollz Motion rollator can be transformed into a Rollz Motion Rhythm by adding the Rhythm module and changing the handles.

Additional lasers, slow down brakes, wheelchair add-on

The Parkinson rollator can be equipped with two extra lasers. The projected lines will pivot towards left or right, helping to initiate a corner.

Some patients suffer from festination of gait so their walking speed increases. Slow down brakes control the speed of the rollator and therefore increase the safety.

The wheelchair add-on transforms the Rollz Motion Rhythm from rollator into a wheelchair within 30 seconds. This is ideal if you get tired and need to pe pushed further.
